Top: Plain- and twill-weave wools and crepe rayon. Purple inner border with one end of rayon in a brighter purple.
Back: Tan plain-weave cotton.
Quilting: Cross hatch at center, overlapping ovals in inner boder and baskets with little bows in outer border interspersed with triangular groupings of clamshells. Double-quilted floral motif in outside corners.
Provenance
Esprit purchased from the Hosteins on 6/12/86 fo $7,000. Holsteins purchased the quilt in the 1960s directly from maker, Katie Lapp, who was "then an elderly woman living in the mountainous and wooded Honey Brook area of Lancaster County". (Esprit book, plate 42)
