Renunciations are papers filed in the Orphans' Court by executors of an estate who do not wish to administer that estate. They show the name of the decedent, the decedent's place of residence, the name of the person renouncing administration, the name of the replacement administrator to be appointed, and date. Henry to Louisa Anderson stating that he misses his family; attended the Centennial Exhibition; sorry that Mr. Cassatt is spending too much money and that his family will suffer; Delia’s liver is all right; Alice is a terrible wreck but claims to be well now; likes Alice’s a Jessie’s husbands; will visit Uncle Edward over the weekend; seems to compare the Centennial Exhibition unfavorably with the shops on Broadway; did not bother to see Presidents Hayes and Grant; did not see Mrs. Stokes; and sends his best to Aunt Sidney. Envelope addressed to Mrs. J. Buchanan Henry, care Dr. Anderson, Stapleton, Staten Island, New York. Both letter and envelope moderately water damaged with some pieces missing. Philadelphia, [1876].
