Henry to Mary Hagner Nicholson imploring her not to request him to write less often and not to do so herself; refers to her as his guardian spirit since he was orphaned at an early age and reared by relatives; talked with Leila as they strolled on the White House Grounds and talked about her; jokingly implores her not to jump into the Severn after hearing of the engagement of Dr. Harrison; his boat the Savana will be launched soon and he looks forward to sailing with her.
