Summary
Stanton Becker Von Grabill was a respected pianist who was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His criticism of Booker T. Washington and the Tuskegee School reflects a racist point of view not uncommon for 1905. His text does provide information about Mr. Washington's project and serves as an example of white critiques of Black enfranchisement after Reconstruction.
