Governor's Approval of Laws.—In 1756 Carpenter was given charge of the Acadian Bill after the House passed it, in order to get the Gov- ernor's approval of the same. Many of those unhappy Nova Scotians, as we know, came to Lancaster County. In 1759 he was given a similar task as to several new bills passed
