The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
Letter from William Henry to J. B. Henry saying that they are settling in for the winter; has heard nothing from Jim and Mary; that Major Murray is now Lieutenant Colonel and commandant at the local post; approves of Reg’s position at the hospital; describes his recent 1500-mile inspection trip on the railroads; the company is economizing; hopes Rob has not been affected by the downturn in business; hopes to get to the Army-Navy game and that he and Margaret visit soon. Envelope with postmark and stamp removed addressed to Mr. J. Buchanan Henry, Hotel Maryland, Annapolis, Maryland. 18 Parsons Ave., Columbus, OH. [11/07/1908] Date from envelope and context.
