Reprint. Originally published by the author in 1934.

Reverend Cuthbertson was a Reformed Presbyterian minister who served in the regions of Adams, York, and Lancaster Counties. Most Presbyterians of this region belonged to the main branch of Colonial Presbyterianism as represented by the Synod of Philadelphia, but there was also a congregation of Reformed Presbyterians, or Covenanters. Reverend Dr. John Cuthbertson was sent from Scotland to minister to Scottish Covenanters in America in 1751, the first Reformed Presbyterian Missionary to come to America. He kept a diary from the date he arrived in America up to 1791. From his entries, we know that he married about 600 persons and baptized over 1,800 children. Note by the Presbyterian Historical Society.
