"This index includes names from 18 published volumes of 18th- and 19th-century emigrants that have been compiled by Burgert. The index includes the surname and given name of the emigrant, followed by the year of emigration when given, and a short citation for the work in which the emigrant appears."

More than sixty of the families from this region arrived before 1727, when the Pa. passenger lists start; this is the most difficult group to locate and identify in both European and American records.
