Summary: "The materials for a memoir of General Wayne...are now deposited with the collecitons of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. A study of these papers has enabled me to give to the public a full and...trustworthy account of the career of General Wayne. These papers embrace copies of the letters written by him during his campaigns, or rather the rough draughts of those letters, letters received by him from the most eminent personages of the Revolution, and many other documents illustrating his life.
