With an addition of some necessary exemplars to be used in His Majesties Court of Exchequer, wards and liveries, and Starre-Chamber. Symbolaeographia, a work in in four books, was first printed in 1590 by Richard Tottel (STC 25267). It was revised in two parts, "Symbolaeography ... the first part" (STC 25267.5) in 1592, and "The second part of symboleography" (STC 25276.3) in 1593. Both parts were subsequently issued, separately, in numerous later editions.

The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
Report of the trial of Castner Hanway for treason, in the resistance of the execution of the Fugitive slave law of September 1850. Before Judges Grier and Kane, in the Circuit Court of the United States for the eastern district of Pennsylvania. Held at Philadelphia in November and December, 1851. To which is added an Appendix, containing the laws of the United States on the subject of fugitives from labor, the charges of Judge Kane to the grand juries in relation thereto, and a statement of the points of law decided by the court during the trial
The charge was in connection with an attempt to arrest Noah Buley, Nelson Ford, Joshua Hammond, and George Hammond on a warrant issued under the Fugitive slave law, claiming them as slaves of Edward Gorsuch of Maryland.
