The service of General Muhlenberg in the colonial army during the Revolutionary War takes up the largest part of this biography. There is an appendix that includes letters from Muhlenberg to other officers during the war ,and letters he received from Washington and other commanders. Also in the appendix is a list of all generals that participated in the war and General Muhlenberg's daily journal of 1784 The sources for the book are shown in his preface and in footnotes .
Founded in Jan. 1842, by Charles J. Peterson, this women's magazine included serial installments, short stories, poems, patterns, publisher's notes, and book reviews. Among its contributors were Mrs. Ann S. Stephens and Emily H. May Cf. American periodicals, 1741-1900.
