Digitization of the James Buchanan Collection was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
Cabinet card. Young Asian man in a dark three piece suit with neck tie, watch fob and a book in his hand. The name Lee Chong is wrriten on the back along with Chinese characters that translate to Li Chang.
Cabinet card. "Aunt Eliza Shenk and cousin Elam" written on back. Eliza A. Shenk Hess and her nephew, Elam G. Hess, son of Henry W. Hess and Elizabeth F. Good Hess.
Cabinet card. Written on back: "Aunt Maggie" and "Dec. 20, 1987". This date might be written incorrectly and could actually be Dec. 20, 1897. This is likely Margaret Etter, sister of John Christian Etter.
Provenance
This collection of photographs is from the estate of Esther Etter Rebman, and is mostly of the Etter, Falk and Kriegelstein families. Some of the photographs may have belonged to her aunt, Mary Etter (b. 1897, d. 1960).
