Letter from son Will to J. B. Henry recounting his conversation with the secretary of the cemetery company where James Buchanan Henry’s father and sister are buried informing him that no more interments will be made in the old cemetery and that the tombstones of his father and sister are “their condition is any worse than any of the others”; wonders if Reg has joined the Catholic Church; that Rob has returned to barracks after camp; and will send a picture of his camp a little later. Envelope with postmarks but stamp removed addressed to Mr. J. Buchanan Henry, Maryland Hotel, Annapolis, Maryland. Note in later hand: Willy [ __ ] father and sisters graves at Newburgh, Pa. Wall Shops, Wall, Greensburg, Pa.

Description
Letter from Will Henry to J. B. Henry reporting that he is temporarily in Pittsburgh running large department; misses the rural aspects of Greensburg and hates the heat and dirt of the city; is sorry about Rob’s hard luck; Reg sent him news from Lake George, which he would like to be there later when the family goes on its launch, but will be working; at least he will go camping at Conneaut Lake with his regiment. Envelope with postmarks and imprint of a stamp addressed to Mr. J. Buchanan Henry, Maryland Hotel, Annapolis, Maryland; in another hand: Willy on is removal with regrets from Greensburg to Pittsburg. Union Station, Pittsburgh [27 June 1897]. Date from postmark.

The orders show date, order number, amount, name of payee, purpose, and signatures of the county commissioners. In the case of "poor children," teachers were reimbursed by the county for tuition and/or the supplies purchased for students whose parents were unable to pay. Orders include: Poor Children, Almshouse, Bridges, Coroners' Inquests, Prisons, Roads, Court House, and Tax Exonerations.
