Hand-painted scenes on both sides of this lozenge-shaped tureen and across the cover having a pinnacle gilt knob, in pink and gilt over a white background, the handles on he tureen are shaped as Egyptian cats in gilt terminating in gilt palmetto leaves. The rim is in gilt with a wide pink band following a narrow band of gilt and white background above a gilt foot.

“The Great American Buck Hunt of 1856.” Large cartoon depicting James Buchanan and a stag “Old Buck” as he bounds toward the White House being hunted by John C. Fremont, mired in black mud as his “Kansas” gun explodes. H. W.
