To the right of the hotel is the home of Major General John Fulton Reynolds, one of Lancaster's greatest military heroes, killed while leading his division at the Battle of Gettysburg
First Reformed Church, 40 East Orange Street at Christian Street, taken before 1866. St. Paul's Reformed Church at the white steeple in the background was then on the South side of Orange at Duke Street, now the location of the County Court House.
Formerly the Kitty Yeates summer home in 1854, this residence became the A. J. Gerz Green Cottage Hotel. The building remains today at 613 Fremont Street. From left are A. J. Gerz and his wife, Margaret Gerz.
