Print of Lancaster, PA's "Soldiers and Sailors' Monument" in Penn Square was dedicated on July 4, 1874. "Vicksburg" and "Malvern Hill" inscriptions visible on the central granite pillar. Families and pairs of people look at the monument, others cross the streets or are on the walkways in front of shops and houses.

Snow covers the ground and a few icicles drip for the roof. A stone wall crosses the foreground leading to leafless trees on the left. Artist Myrtle Tremblay signed and date the painting 1993.
