'Red, white and blue striped ribbon, folded over on top, fringed on bottom edge. A photo of the head of Benjamin Harrison with his signature below is attached to the ribbon. On the left side, both corners are attached with red thread to match the stripe. On the right, blue thread matches the stripe behind it.
Benjamin Harrison (1833-1901) was the 23rd president of the U.S. (1889-1893).
White ribbon with black ink image of a man with full beard and mustache, looking to the right. What looks like "A. Zeese & Co." is printed on the the man's right lapel. Top edge turned and stitched to front, covering "8th Ward."
"REPUBLICAN/ CLUB,/ Lancaster, Pa." is printed below.
Pennsylvania Long Rifle; percussion cap; curly maple stock; iron barrel stamped "H. GIBBS" on top of barrel. Brass fittings and patch box. Some rust on iron and brass parts. Approximately .40 caliber muzzle. 44" barrel with an overall length of 61 inches.

Henry Gibb Sr. and his son Henry Gibb were Lancaster City gunsmiths active for most of the nineteenth century. The father from 1812 until 1843 and the son from 1843 until 1880.

Custodial History
The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
Group of young men standing and sitting in front of a large stone building. Written on back: "Mr. Hurd's class". Written along the front left side: "June 1889". John Christian Etter may be the young man standing at right. This may be his class at the Mt. Airy School, now the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.
Provenance
This collection of photographs is from the estate of Esther Etter Rebman, and is mostly of the Etter, Falk and Kriegelstein families. Some of the photographs may have belonged to her aunt, Mary Etter (b. 1897, d. 1960).
