Henry reviewing plans for a vacation; expects her mother to be friendly if not cordial; the subsiding Mr. Parker is living in one large room in New York; she has a small lump on her eyelid; some letters seem to have gone astray, perhaps not forwarded by Bennie; Maude is visiting Mrs. Brandreth; Aunt Kitty and Lucy are with the Thompsons; has an engagement with some fraternity girls; and can hardly wait for his arrival. Henry expressing joy that he and Margaret are enjoying Italy and hopes to visit someday; had a family reunion in Washington with Aunt Lena, the girls, Frank, Sid, and Reg; met a friend at the Pittsburgh railroad station; in Cambridge to check of the small railroad shop; the drought has reduced the streams so much that the water is not suitable for the engines; hopes for a mild winter to aid in running the engines; Jean and Rob are settled in their apartment which Sid finds cozy; and is attending a “stag” party thrown by a good customer of the railroad and will be attended by “big bugs” such as the mayor.
