May 29, 1909, Kansas City, Missouri. Harry Tendall, left, went ten rounds with Packey McFarland. McFarland won. Man at right is Emil Thiery, McFarland's manager.
Provenance
Photographs from MG-63, the Johnny Hauck Collection. Hauck was a local boxing historian and brother of noted local boxer Leo Hauck. The Haucks grew up in Lancaster's Cabbage Hill neighborhood and were known as all-around athletes.
The City Saving Fund and Trust Company, southwest corner of Penn Square, Lancaster. Charles H. Locher, President. Also showing Cox and Rose Clothiers, 4 West King Street.
Fulton High School Class of 1908. Group of students and teachers posed in front of brick building marked "Central School". No one is identified. "Charles Workman" written on back of photo.
Yeates School, group of twelve costumed students. Those identified are: Aubrey Huston, Morton Rosse, Bill Gardiner, and John Hartman. Others in cast list are Robert MacMurdy, Kenneth Morton, Berkeley Reed, Ralston Grant, William Brown, Robert Clay, and John Donaldson.
