Beginning as a general store and blacksmith shop about 1744 by John Miller. The Steinman Hardware Company celebrated its 200th Anniversary in 1944 when this picture was taken. The building still stands at 26 West King Street.
The Washington Hotel, 1887-1892, was located in the present Lancaster Storage Company site in 300 block of North Queen Street. Note archway that leads to a courtyard and stables to rear of former hotel.
