In Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Amish buggies and covered bridges are common sights on the rural roads of the scenic Pennsylvania Dutch Country. the county's population includes approximately 12,000 Amish people and 30 covered bridges stand on or within its borders.

As part of an Autumn weekend in Lancaster County, PA, visit Zimmerman's Hardware Store in Intercourse. Members of the Amish community still buy their hardware here, which also served as a filming site for the 1985 film "Witness", starring Harrison Ford.
