Photographs were taken in 2008, but Mr. Schaller's memories of the neighborhood from 1935 to 1948, from the age of 5 to the age of 18, are included. Mr. Schaller is an Armstrong retiree and grew up in the Cabbage Hill neighborhood.
Former site of Food Fair supermarket, now the site of PA Welfare Office. Was the site of the Adam Wise mansion. Before the market, Steve Reilly's Mountain Boys played guitar and banjo concerts on the steps of the mansion on summer nights.

Former site of Faasnacht soft pretzel bakery, 403 West Vine Street. Room added to back of home for bakery. Venders came and they sold them around town, especially at Penn Square.
