Henry to Mary Hagner Nicholson apologizing for the short note; his cold is still with him; visited her sister Emily and she might go to the Douglas’s Party; will be at a large dinner tonight and hope to talk to the Scharffs since his office and his wife keep him busy; hopes to open an office in Newark and will stay with the Scharffs in New York; eagerly awaits her Philadelphia letter; the Scharffs attending the Douglas and the Senator Seward Parties; and says he tries to not be too envious at their happiness. Envelope with postmark and removed stamp addressed to Miss Mary H. Nicholson, care John L. McKim, Esq, Baltimore. Washington, D.C.
