Description
Letter from E. Y. Buchanan to H. B. Swarr expressing sorrow at Mrs. Johnston’s exceptions to Mr. Swift’s excellent report, because now the unpleasant facts to which she refers will be more widely distributed; suggesting that payment to the other heirs be postponed until settlement of the threatened proceedings; approving the hiring of Mr. North and making arrangements for him to see the proceedings of the equity suit; and planning to meet with Mr. Preston of Boston who is strongly recommended by Mr. Capen to be the biographer of James Buchanan. Oxford Church Parsonage, Philadelphia.
