Monument erected in Buchanan Park in 1939 to honor World War I veterans of the 111th Ambulance Company, originally the Third Company, Pennsylvania National Guard.
Rodney Peaco was a member of Lancaster's Mt. Horeb Lodge when he entered the military in 1914 and served in the Quartermaster Corps. He is shown here, kneeling at far right, with fellow soldiers wearing Masonic aprons over their military uniforms. Peaco served with General Pershing in the 1916 - 1917 search for Mexican outlaw Pancho Villa.
