Lancaster Square is the heart of Lancaster, PA. The Central Market (center) is the nation's oldest continually operating farmers market while the Heritage Center (left) now houses a splendid collection of early Lancaster County's finest decorative arts.

The Heritage Center of Lancaster County and the Central Market, both in downtown Lancaster, are historic and cultural anchors. In 1992, the City of Lancaster will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the chartering of the borough of Lancaster. The Heritage Center will be featruing a very special exhibit, "from London to Lancaster", highlighting Lancaster's sophistication in furniture and crafts during the pre- and post-colonial periods.

Originally named for Lancaster, England, the city has been captial of both the state and the nation.
