I was given this engraving by Mrs. Landis on date as shown by Geo. Heiges.
Presented to the Lancaster County Historical Society by Mrs. Z. Landis, August 2, 1956.

Painting conservation needs: Remove from acidic back & matting, bathe, bleach, remat, reback with conservation materials, deacidify.
Frame: Good, 2" gold ornate with corner ornaments.
Frame conservation needs: Surface clean and replace portion of lower right ornament.

Description
Oval miniature portrait on ivory encased in glass of A. L. Evans by Jacob Eichholtz. Locket frame contains large viewable area in front with thin brass border. Rear of case contains a smaller oval viewing area intended for a lock of hair.
Presumed to be Alexander L. Evans (1799-1839), grandfather of Lilian S. Evans and father of Samuel Evans (father of Lilian). A.L. Evans buried in Donegal Presby. Church Cemetery.

Description
Miniature Portrait of William Frazer, son of Judge Frazer in large gold frame. William was a lieutenant in the 3rd Artillery in the US Army in Seminole war. died in Lancaster in 1844. The original of this protrait was painted in 1842 by John Henry Brown and exhibited in 1912. This is a copy of that painting, painted by the same artist in 1844.
Another Miniature of William Clark Frazer was donated in 1976 by Virginia Moore Burk Dwight. See object files for 1976.999
