National Wax Museum of Lancaster County Heritage, Hans Herr (1639-1725) A Mennonite Bishop in the Canton of Berne, Switzerland, Hans Herr led a colony of Mennonites to America in 1710 and subsequently to Lancaster County. The Hans Herr House, the oldest in Lancaster County was built by Hans and his son, Christian as a combination Dwelling/Meeting House in 1710. The building still stands.
