The Hubley Collection contains legal documents, case papers, family and military papers, wills, deeds, bills and receipts, indentures for servants and enslaved persons, correspondence, petitions, and church-related information.

John Hubley and Joseph Hubley were Lancaster attorneys.
System of Arrangement
The legal papers are arranged chronologically. Case papers are arranged
alphabetically by surname of the plaintiff or defendant. Family papers are grouped by the family member's name and chronologically within that name. Box 6 is arranged chronologically.
Political ribbon mounted to cardboard. Yellow ribbon, "Under the 19th ammendment / I cast my vote November 2nd, 1920 / Harding Coolidge / Lancaster, PA"
Framed seal of Robert Coleman. Red wax seal. Imprint of shield with rampant lion in the center. Banner underneath shield reads, "Inomnia Paradus" Directly above the shield sits an armorial helmet. Above the helmets is the tip of an arrow or spear flanked by a set of wings.
"Inomnia Paradus" -- The coast guard's motto, "Semper Paradus" translates roughly to, "Always Prepared" Coleman's motto means "Ready for Anything".
Hand-carved pipe. Bowl is carved from wood in the shape of a railroad engine and painted red. On bottom is engraved, "1951" on the side of car is engraved, "I. Bear RR"
Reproduced copies of seals of citizens of Lancaster County, Casts were taken from documents of the Lancaster County Courthouse - deeds, justice of the peace, notary public, personal. Includes Penn's Grant seal.
Silver two-handled bowl or loving cup. Engraved, "To: Ezra B. Fritz / from some of his friends / 1844 June 22 1909 / Quarryville, PA " engrave on back of object, the list of friends.
Cane, black wood body with brass headcap. Engraved on end, "A Normal Tribute / D. M. Sensenig / Aug. 30, 1877" Wooden cane or walking stick with carving and metal adornment, smooth dark finish, tapers from .875 inches to .5 inches at bottom tip. Top 2 inches metal button top sloping in the encircle the .75 inch diameter cane. Intricate flourishes around base of button and between 4 petals pointing up from the base. 1.5 inch tip banded in white metal; .125 inches of metal tip shows.
