Shirk's School, c. 1830. Now a private home. Churchtown Road. That part with a porch is the original school, attachment to the righ was added later. Located just down the road from Joseph Shirk's house that was owned in 1990 by the Noah Shirk family.
The covered bridge at Pool Forge. This old covered bridge is noted by manhy as a landmark in this area. It was so named in this area. It was so named from the old stone forge located on this site, right off State Highway 23 between Goodville and Churchtown, Pennsylvania.
