Granite stone and bronze tablet on the lawn of Lititz town square in memory of General John A. Sutter. He was an eminent California pioneer whose lands were overrun and ruined by the gold seekers on 1849. General Sutter came east and lived the last nine years of his life in Lititz. He is buried in the Moravian Cemetery. Monument erected in 1939.
