Locks with engraved lock plates like this one were used on Pennsylvania rifles about the middle of the eighteenth century. Some of the lock plates were flat and others were convex like this one. Some were made by Ketland and signed on the inside of the plate.
Drepperd made "Boy Gun" at Landis Valley Farm Museum. The gun originally belonged to Christopher Columbus Rote. It was given to him as a gift in the 1880s.
