The Old City Hall in Lancaster was built in 1795. Today it serves as the Lancaster Heritage Center and is open to the public. Behind the Old City Hall is Central Market.
Penn Square stands in the heart of Lancaster as a monument to those who fought in the Civil War. It faces Watt and Shand Department Store, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1978.
