Cylindrical, Chinese export porcelain vase with handpainted decoration. There are two sections with detailed images of vignettes of people. May illustrate a story. separated by two brightly colored bands with foliate and curvilinear motifs. Upper and lower borders include similar designs.

White linen rectangular bureau scarf with red cotton embroidery. Design of large 5-petaled flower surrounded by 3 additional stems of leaves and flowers repeated four times. Stems toward center. Entire 4-part floral design in center of piece. Small flowers and foliage embroidered in each of four corners. Spray of flowers embroidered in center on both ends. Red thread border of 1/8-inch high stitches around entire scarf.
Lengthwise edges have 1/4-inch folded hem, machine-stitiched in white thread. Width edges are selvedge. (Stem stitch, straight stitch; border in herringbone stitch.)
