Tablet dedicated to Thomas Wharton Jr. First President of the Supreme Executive Council of Pennsylvania under the Constitution of 1776 and Commadner in Chief of her Forces inaugurated March 5th 1777 Died in office greatly lamented, May 23rd 1778. At the request of the vestry his remains wer buried within this church East of this tablet erected by the present vestry July 4th 1887. Tablet is at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster.
