Ten Porcelain Teacups with purple transfer-print design of peafowls and fountain, Appears to be a mixed set, some pieces appear to be newer than others
Green handle-less cup, sponge-painted with green on exterior. Decorated with a single blue, red and yellow peafowl (peacock?). Opposite side has two thin arcs intersecting. Cup has a small foot ring supporting a constricted base which leads to slightly curved, flaring sides. Thin black arc on bottom of inside.
Interior is crazed and stained. Two hairline cracks extending down from lip, one nearly to bottom and one only 1/2" long. Old discolored chip under foot ring.
Thrown creamware teacup with pronounced footring has thin curving sides with slight inward curve near top. Hand painted decoration: a single brown band near bottom; double banding along lip of differing widths; and an unusual repeating garland motif hangs from lower band by zig-zag lines, with a centered yellow circle decorated with brown tufts at top and bottom. A brown alternating motif hangs like a tassel or an inverted tuft of grass. Applied handle has brown stripe.
