Originally founded in 1825 at Carlisle, Penna. by the German Reformed Church, the school moved to several other neighboring towns before being housed in the present structure in 1893. Because of a synod merger in 1934, the name was changed to Theological Seminary of the Evangelical and Reformed Church.
First Woolworth Building, Lancaster, PA. The first Woolworth Building was erected here in 1900. It stood for more than fifty years being replaced by the present F. W. Woolworth Co. Store.
H. C. Demuth, 49 East King Street, Lancaster, PA. H.. C. Demuth, snuff Manufacturer, established in 1770, is still in existence at 49 East King Street, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. When General Lafayetter made his memorable visit here in 1824 he was banqueted at this splendid old hostelry.
