Index card attached to group says: "Safe Hardware was one of the last manufacturers of hardware in Lancaster, Pa. For years it was located at Second and Crystal Streets. After outgrowing that location it moved to the old "Hubley" buildings on Plum Street. Safe was later bought by American Hardware - which became Emhart Corporation. Over the years operations were moved to Connecticut and the manufacturing of builders hardware ceased in Lancaster.
