Description: This collection contains genealogical data, Civil War Widow's Pension receipts, Lancaster city tax receipts of the family of John and Catharine Robinson, an affidavit of the birth of Anna Duke Krauskop, and an itinerary and program of the Liberty Bell's journey to the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco in 1915.

Admin/Biographical History: John Robinson (1826-1866) married Catharine Burns on 9 March 1851. Their daughter, Susan (b. 1851), married Lewis Krauskop. John Robinson served in Co. B, First Pennsylvania Reserves, in the Civil War.

Description: 1940 Annual Report for the Animal Trap Company of America.

Admin/Biographical History: J. M. Mast Manufacturing Company was organized in Lititz in 1901 to manufacture animal traps, patent fishing floats and vegetable graters. In 1905 the Mast Company was merged with the Animal Trap Company of Abingdon, Illinois; the new company was said to be "the largest concern of its kind in the world." Woodstream Corporation manufactures and markets pest control, and wildlife caring and control products for the United States, Canada, and European markets. The company offers rodent control products, caring control products for pets and wildlife, pest control products for the lawn and garden, and wild bird feeder segments. It also offers mouse traps, cage traps, toxic insecticides and fungicides, and bird feeders, as well as dog and small animal cages. Description: Catharine B. Spitler, a resident of Landisville, Pennsylvania, compiled these scrapbooks. Book one contains information primarily about World War II. The newspaper clippings include information about Lancaster natives, both men and women that were involved in World War II, including ranks and location of service. There are also articles about the United States involvement in World War II. Interesting local articles and programs discuss the World War II Memorial in West Hempfield Township. Columbia's Sesquicentennial was documented through a series of newspaper clippings located in this scrapbook.; Book two is a compilation of newspaper clippings, engagement announcements, wedding announcements and obituaries pertaining to Lancastrians. Locations around Lancaster County that were mentioned are as follows: Lancaster, Hempfield, Ephrata, Maytown and Mount Joy. An interesting subject within the second scrapbook is the1972 Flood of Lancaster (Hurricane Agnes).

Description: James Buchanan and Wheatland Scrapbook, February 1936-May 1948. This scrapbook describes the establishment and grand opening of James Buchanan’s Wheatland in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The volume contains newspaper articles that tell Wheatland estate’s history and James Buchanan’s life story. Newspaper articles illustrate the excavation and archaeology performed at the estate before May 1948.

Admin/Biographical History: James Buchanan was born on April 23, 1791 to James Buchanan and Elizabeth Speer. He was the second child born out of ten children, and he would go on to outlive all but one of his siblings. Most popularly remembered as Pennsylvania's only President and as a lifelong bachelor, Buchanan committed a lifetime to politics. In 1821, he left his law practice and embarked on his political career after having been voted into the U.S. House of Representatives. He would remain in the House for five consecutive terms before serving as the U.S. Minister to Russia, a Senator in the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Secretary of State, the U.S. Minister to Great Britain, and finally, the 15th President of the United States. He died in his bedchamber at Wheatland at 8:30 AM on June 1, 1868. He was 77 years old.

Title: "Aunt Min sez" radio scripts

Description: More than fifty scripts for the WGAL radio show, "Aunt Min Sez," were saved in this scrapbook. Aunt Min, the homespun character, shared anecdotes about holidays, the weather, church, dieting, learning to ride a bicycle, Atlantic City, a bat in the house, house cleaning, and various other subjects. Her stories combined humor with down-to-earth philosophy about life and provided entertainment for readers and listeners.; Mrs. Marian Root Wisler, of Columbia, Pennsylvania began publishing "Aunt Min Sez" as a newspaper column in November 1938. The fifteen minute radio scripts were written and read by Mrs. Wisler, who was sometimes joined by Mrs. Wilbur Laird portraying "Jen." The show aired Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. on WGAL radio and the scripts were published in The Columbia Broadcaster.

Admin/Biographical History: Marian Root Wisler was married to John Jay Wisler, Sr. who was a 4th cousin of John W. W. Loose. Mrs. Wisler was the publisher of The Columbia Broadcaster from 1931-1934.
