Ledger Carrier’s Annual Greeting to Their Subscribers. Declaration of Independence in small print below image of the signers. Surrounding both are portraits of the fifteen presidents of the United States. Presumably published late in 1858 by Swain & Abell, publisher of the Public ledger, Philadelphia, Pa., for distribution on or about New Year’s Day. Engraved and printed by Illman & Sons, 603 Arch St. Philada., [1858]. Philadelphia.

The James Buchanan Family Papers were collected by the James Buchanan Foundation for the Preservation of Wheatland. This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009. Digitization of the James Buchanan Family Papers was funded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, PHMC Appl ID # 201808013051, 2019-2020.
