Description
Letter from Harriet Lane to Lily Macalester recounting in humorous terms the romantic adventures of Lily’s father, regretting that she is not in Bedford with the others, pleading with her not to stay too long at West Point lest the President and Gov. Floyd become upset, relating the latest exploits of Mr. Henry, the Major, Gov. Powell, and Gov. Floyd, remembering a fond excursion to Mount Vernon and Mr. Schell’s gift of a stone bracelet to Harriet, returning the packet “money for papers,” the improvement in the health of Uncle, and the death of her pet Nettle.
