641 Poplar Street, home of Aloysious Schmidt and his family. In 1938 he and his parents returned to Germany and Al was kille dwhen he fell between the rail cars. His brother remained with his wife and in 1942 he was dragged from his home in the middle of the night by the F. B. I. and imporisoned until 1946.

Photographs were taken in 2008, but Mr. Schaller's memories of the neighborhood from 1935 to 1948, from the age of 5 to the age of 18, are included. Mr. Schaller is an Armstrong retiree and grew up in the Cabbage Hill neighborhood.
