Provenance
Second of two Diffenderfer family albums. Compiled by Frank Reid Diffenderfer, a former member of LCHS and an editor of a Lancaster city newspaper. Album documents his family as well as that of his neighbors on North Duke Street, Lancaster, beginning in 1903. Neighbors include Charles Fondersmith, Robert Slaymaker, and his daughter, Ida, who married Frank Fondersmith.
Elizabeth Peale's photo album before her marriage to Paul Ryder. Photo Album #3, page 54, has four pictures of varying sizes. (1) Written over a picture of several young women and men standing in road in front of a bar is "A Pretzel Party at York Haven" and under the picture "Naughty, Naughty." (2) A man in a boat on a lake appearing to push his boat off of something with a long stick. The caption under this is "Grounded." (3) A group of twelve young men and women standing on the roof of a paddlewheel boat. This is titled "The Stand Up.' (4) Two men and three women at a creek. A man and woman are standing at one side of the creek and two women and a man are on rocks in the creek. This is labeled "Stepping Stones to the Deluge."
