Letter from Henry E. Johnston to H. B. Swarr forwarding Harriet Lane Johnston’s approval of Mr. Gillette to replace Mr. Baker as the biographer of James Buchanan and inquiring whether Mr. Gillette has declined the offer; also, requesting permission for Mrs. Johnston to refurbish her uncle’s burial site at her own expense.
