Henry to Louisa Anderson agreeing with her that they should be separated less often but circumstances might decide otherwise; Mr. Parker hasn’t written about his business trip but should when he reaches his home in Guelph, Canada; if he feels well he will embark on a two- to three-week vacation to Lake George, visiting Uncle Edward on the way; he will bring some of his goods to Staten Island to be shipped to Australia; asks about Henny Thieriot; likes matrimony; wonders if Mrs. Muney or Mrs. Meade will be at Lake George; implores her to exert her authority on Dody in a way to gain his everlasting respect; went to a party on a cool piazza and a moonlight row on the bay; mentions Mrs. Southgate and Mrs. Magruder. Center of pages badly water-stained. Envelope with postmark and stamp removed, left side badly water damaged, addressed to Mrs. J. Buchanan Henry, care Dr. W. C. Anderson, Stapleton, Staten Island, New York. Annapolis, Maryland, Monday, [9 November 1874]. Date from postmark.

Henry to Louisa Anderson mentioning his happiness that Dick delivered her letter and for the information Charlie obtained from Mrs. Townsend; Mrs. Magruder will send Dody by train from New York to Newark; hopes to be home soon; friendships hard to make in Newport because everyone lives in cottages; thinks Col. Thompson might be ill; had a great sail to Providence and might go to Block Island next; Mr. Schmidt sent Mr Winan of Baltimore to look at the yacht but seems uninterested in buying it; Cousin Will Buchanan is too ill to come; and only one beautiful woman in Newport. Envelope addressed to Mrs. J Buchanan Henry, Stapleton, Staten Island, New York, stamp and postmark. Newport, Rhode Island, Tuesday, 28 [July 1875].
