Description
A. Toy rifle made of wood and stamped light-gauge nickel-plated metal; may be a functioning dart(?) gun. Hand-carved full-length rifle stock of varnished pine has stamped metal barrel, cap lock assembly and trigger guard. all commercially made. Wire trigger activating inner spring for propelling a projectile is also factory made. Additional metal parts appear to be hand fashioned: metal strap securing barrel to stock and ramrod pipe holding purple wooden ramrod. Sling strap is missing but fittings remain: a small eye screw under rear stock and a light wire fitting 3" back of muzzle. Paper sticker on side of stock has #77.5.8. (North Wall, Unit 2 )
B. Stuffed toy dog with stubby tail. Seated on hind legs. Short floppy ears, plastic bead brown eye, black stitched nose, mouth and paws. Two red stitches for mouth. Dirty overall with lots of fur loss. 6 inches tall.
C. Stuffed yellow calico dog. Handmade. Tail, hind leg and foreleg. Two long floppy ears. Black beads for eyes. Black thread whiskers and nose. 4 inches high x 6 inches long. Dirty overall.
D. Owl beanbag. Dark fabric body with gray felt tail, red felt vest, black felt eyes on white felt and black felt beak. Insect holes in vest and white eye-felt. 7 inches long, head to tail.
E. Stuffed rabbit. Formerly white rabbit (now dirty brown) with pink bead eyes and ears lined with pink fabric. Sits upright, 7 inch high.
F. Spool doll. 7 empty spools of varying sizes connected with blue string with beads at ends of feet and arms. Pink fabric forms a decoration at the top of the head. Pink satiny fabric is gathered for a skirt around the large body spool. On one spool: "Brainerd & Armstrong Pure Silk."
G. "My Dolly''s Feeding Bottle." Box and lid with glass baby feeding bottle inside. (In doll trunk, 1977.005.001.E)
H. "For My Doll" label on lid. Inside compartments contain two glass feeding bottles, a broken pacifier, and ornament with bells to dangle and three combs (two white hair combs- one is broken- and one brown comb to wear in hair). (In doll trunk, 1977.005.001.E)
I. 4 hair brushes (3 to 4.75 ins. long) of wood and plastic with varying designs on top. One (3.75 inch long) hand-held mirror. (In plastic bag in doll trunk, 1977.005.001.E)
J. Assorted boxes/containers with lids (8). Specific names mentioned: 1. "F. Laurent & Sons/1306 Chestnut St./ Philadelphia" with picture of mother and daughter in nursery looking at a baby; 2. "Sterling Silver/ Hamilton & Diesingel/1208 Chestnut Street/ Philadelphia/ Diamonds, Watches & Jewelry." 3." The Pairpoint Manufacturing Co. Fine Silver Plated Ware/ New Bedford, Mass./ New York. K. Needlecase. Two rectangles of white fabric edged in buttonhole stitch sewn between cards (1.5 x 2.75 ins.) with 2 decorative pink ribbons on the top edge. Religious messages: "While I live will I praise the Lord" and "I rejoice in they salvation" on one side. "Sing with gladness" and "Praise ye the Lord" on the other.
