A mid-nineteenth-century brass candlestick; circular base with molding on edge; deep, concave pan; cylindrical shaft, removable cap; spring platform for candle; shaft stamped in front "Cornelius & Baker/Philadelphia" inside a rectangular metal frame; height 9 1/8" in. "Cornelius and Co. Lamps" and "Isaac F. Baker, lamp mfg." are both listed at 176 Chestnut Street.
