Letter from James Buchanan to George W. Berntheisel acknowledging receipt of his letter, apologizing for not writing a longer letter, and enclosing a copy an engraving of “Hon James Buchanan” by Draper, Welch & Co. With envelope and Presidential seal. Date from envelope, because top half of first page is cut off.

This collection was relocated from the Wheatland mansion to the LancasterHistory archives in the Spring of 2009.
