On stiff paper with 16 holes/inch. At very top: 3 diagonal stitches in tan wool. "Friendship" is stitched in tiny black beads. Cord used is anchored in back. Lower design of leaves and flowers is stitched in red, yellow, tan and green wool threads.
Bookmark on stiff paper with 20 holes/inch. Diagonal stitches in variety of colors (pink,red,orange, yellow, olvie and forest greens and agua) Wool htreads. "For A Friend" with a lyre underneath, Yellow strings of lyre span 1 1/8 inches. 2 1/8-inch wide pink satiny ribbon is sewn at bothe ends to cover back of the stitching.
"Sweet Home" in red on stiff paper with 20 holes/inch. Wool threads, diagonal stitch in greens, red and yellow. Lyre with partial arc of leaves and flowers.
May have been a practice piece--letters unequally spaced.

Jacquard coverlet made by Samuel Hippert. Weft yarns are red, green and blue wool and warp is natural white cotton. Two loom widths sewn together in center.
Center field has circles of foliate motifs. Border includes a double row of 8-petal flowers. At foot end and sides is an inner borders of roosters.
Weaver's blocks in corners at foot: "S+ H+ ELI/ ZABETH/ TOWN/ PA 1858/ SARAH/ ANN/ FLURY". Band with "H PATENT" repeated along runs across coverlet between weaver's blocks.
Sides are self-fringes; foot edge finished with applied fringe. Top/head edge has red cotton tape handsewn over the raw edge.

Corner blocks have "S.H. ELIZABETHTOWN PA 1838 SARAH ANN FLURY". Hippert worked in Mount Joy ca. 1833-1838 and in Elizabethtown ca. 1835-1841.
Coverlet of red wool and blue-green cotton. 2 loom widths decoratively and strongly seamed in the center with red wool. This coverlet is comparatively light weight. Self-fringes of red wool on both sides. Foot end is rolled and hand-stitched. Red wool fringes appear to have been individually applied.Top/head edge is finished with a 1.5-inch wide folded silky red binding. Some machine stitching in black thread and also hand-stitching to attach the binding.
Center field contains rows of circular designs. Roses border the lower edge and foliage in urns border the sides.
Unlike most coverlets, Satler's weaver's blocks in bottom corners are oriented to be read from the top of the coverlet.
