Summary
The Franklin described here was George M. Franklin who, after serving in the Civil War, was an oil speculator in the Meadville, PA, area. He later became a lawyer and worked for Lancaster businesses including the Steinman hardware company and the Hamilton Watch company. This short book contains several letters that Mr Franklin wrote between May and November 1865.
